Welcome to Ndabuchiseh

Promoting sustainable peace and development in Cameroon

Who we are

Ndabuchiseh is the flagship initiative of the Rohi Foundation, founded in Kanthari by Fuhbang Emmanuel to scout and train youngsters with peacebuilding skills in Cameroon.

Vision

We envision an African youth becoming confident and resilient ambassadors of sustainable peace and development.

Mission

Our mission is to promote sustainable peace and development by scouting and training, especially the youth, as peacebuilders.

Philosophy

We believe that peace and development are humanity's highest values. We consider positive peace worth any price. Violence is a construct of the human mind. While youth can be drawn to violence, through empowerment they can become powerful agents of peace and development.

What We Do

Peace Leadership

We provide training on peace leadership grounded mainly in traditional African peace practices, Ubuntu philosophy, storytelling and living African proverbs.

Nonviolence

We train especially youth facing restrictions, oppression, and/or authoritarianism with nonviolent methods that amplify their voices, challenge power dynamics, and request reforms.

Counseling and Peer Education

We train the youth as counselors and peer educators who can be effective role models for other youth by promoting peaceful behavior in a youthful manner.

Psychosocial Support

We assist victims of violence suffering from trauma, mental, spiritual, and emotional challenges to gain recovery.

Livelihoods

We provide vocational and entrepreneurial skills. For this, however, we have consciously and carefully selected vocations or professions that can only be practiced in a mindset of peace.

Civic Education

We empower youth in their communities as contributing citizens who have skills and tools to participate in the socio-economic and political activities of the community in a nonviolent manner.

Human Rights Education

We educate youth on their human rights and inspire them to become advocates for tolerance and peace.

Environmental Peacebuilding

We assist youth in sustainable management of natural resources to prevent conflict and build peace to ensure the transition to a durable peace.

Cameroon Youth Peacebuilders residential training program: hope for idle youth in Cameroon

Our residential training program provides a safe, eco-friendly, and resourceful space outside of the conflict zone for idle youth between the ages of 18 and 35 from the North West and South West regions of Cameroon. This will help this youth to recalibrate, build resilience, and develop their vital livelihood and peacebuilding skills to enable them to become confident and resilient ambassadors of sustainable peace and development in Cameroon. This is the only hope for some youth in Cameroon.

Founder's Story

As a teenager, I almost lost my life due to an act of violence. This incident made me dislike violent conflicts. At university, I studied the philosophies of peace activists and developed a passion for peacebuilding. There has been ongoing armed conflict in Cameroon since 2016. Politicians and warlords are inciting and instrumentalizing youths into acts of violence. Therefore, I am engaging idle youth in peacebuilding activities.

Testimonials of volunteers

I got to know about the volunteer program through my college, and I gave my name. I was very thrilled to hear that people from different parts of the world were coming together for a greater cause. Later, through my friend, I got to know Emmanuel and the organization, Ndabuchiseh. I became a volunteer for their stall. We came up with different games and other ways to raise funds for the organization and pitched them to the people who visited the Spread the Spice program. I was glad that I was able to help and be a part of this noble cause.

It was really a wonderful experience working with Emmanuel, the founder of Ndabuchiseh, at the Spread the Spice event. I am glad to have been able to do something for the dying youth in Cameroon. It is such an honor for me. I'm really grateful to the Kanthari organization for giving me such an opportunity to work as a volunteer at the Spread the Spice event held in Trivandrum. I got the chance to interact with many people from different places. It was a nice experience, and I got the chance to sharpen my communication skills as well.
